‘Not Even an Iota of Truth’: Mother Reacts Strongly

Breaking her silence on the issue, Sreeleela’s mother, Dr Swarnalatha, rejected the rumours outright while speaking to Deccan Chronicle.

She said, “These rumours are absolutely false and have no truth in them. We do not know how such stories emerge. There is not even an iota of truth in reports claiming that Sreeleela and Tilak Varma have been seeing each other for the past year. It is purely a figment of imagination.”

She further clarified that Sreeleela’s priorities currently lie elsewhere.

“She is preparing for her NEET-PG examination scheduled in June. Right now, her concentration is entirely on studies and films. She has another five to six years ahead for such personal matters and is balancing both academics and career very well,” she added.

Sreeleela’s Team Says the Two Have Never Met

As online chatter continued to spiral, Sreeleela’s team also issued a strong clarification, rubbishing every rumour linking her with the Mumbai Indians batter.

“The rumours surrounding Tilak Varma and Sreeleela are completely baseless and untrue. The two have never even met or spoken to each other. There is absolutely no truth to these speculations, and such fabricated stories should not be circulated without any factual basis,” the team told Pinkvilla.

The statement came after several fan pages and social media accounts claimed the actor and cricketer had been secretly involved for nearly a year.

The IPL Match That Triggered Everything

The rumours appear to have originated during the IPL fixture between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings in Dharamsala. Reports of Dr Swarnalatha being spotted in the stands soon led to wild assumptions online.

Soon after, social media users began claiming that someone associated with Sreeleela’s camp had attended the match sporting a jersey with Tilak Varma’s name. Internet detectives then began analysing the duo’s social media activity, with some users alleging that the two had interacted online before unfollowing each other amid the growing speculation.

The frenzy intensified after a candid video featuring Suryakumar Yadav surfaced online. In the clip, the Indian batter is seen teasing Tilak, saying, “Tilak Varma, na? Tilak Varma is in love.”
