The Regional Meteorological Centre (IMD) has issued a severe weather warning as a massive heatwave grips Odisha. For the next 3 to 4 days, the state will face unbearable heat and humidity. According to the latest forecast, Western Odisha is the hardest hit, with temperatures in Sambalpur, Bolangir, Titlagarh, Jharsuguda, and Angul expected to touch a scorching 42°C today.
While the West sizzles with dry heat, Coastal Odisha is not spared either. Residents in coastal belts will face extreme “Guluguli” (sultry humidity), making life miserable even indoors.
