Odisha is currently facing extreme weather conditions with unbearable heat and rising humidity affecting daily life across the state.

On the previous day, 11 cities recorded temperatures above 40°C, with Boudh becoming the hottest at a scorching 42.9°C.

The Regional Meteorological Centre has now issued a Yellow Warning for 9 districts including Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh.

These regions are expected to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds reaching 40 to 50 kmph.

According to the weather forecast, Odisha may witness Kalbaisakhi (pre-monsoon storm activity) for the next 7 days, with unstable weather conditions likely to continue until the 23rd of this month.

Residents are advised to stay cautious due to sudden weather changes, heat stress, and storm activity across different parts of the state.
