Thailand couple with Guinness World Record for 58-hour Valentine’s Day kiss end relationship after a decade!

For years, Ekkachai Tiranarat and Laksana Tiranarat were seen as the ultimate symbol of endurance, romance, and commitment. The Thai couple shot to global fame after entering the Guinness World Records with an astonishing kiss that lasted 58 hours, 35 minutes, and 58 seconds — a feat so extreme that it eventually led Guinness to retire the category altogether.

However, more than a decade later, the couple behind one of the world’s most talked-about love stories has quietly gone their separate ways.
The Kiss That Made History
Their legendary moment came during a Valentine’s Day competition organised by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Pattaya, Thailand, in February 2013. The challenge demanded participants remain kissing continuously without sleep, rest, or even properly separating during bathroom breaks.
What made the achievement even more remarkable was that the pair had already broken the same record once before in 2011 with a 46-hour kiss. After losing the title in 2012 to another Thai couple, they returned determined to reclaim what they considered theirs. Their 2013 victory earned them prize money, diamond rings, and worldwide media attention. But the contest’s brutal physical toll later prompted Guinness World Records to discontinue the “longest kiss” category, citing safety concerns including exhaustion and sleep deprivation.
A Surprising Ending to a Famous Romance
In early 2025, reports emerged that Ekkachai and Laksana had separated after spending years together following their historic achievement. According to interviews cited by multiple outlets, the couple said they had gradually grown apart but still shared mutual respect and affection.

Ekkachai reportedly described the record as a “once-in-a-lifetime experience” and said he remains proud of what they accomplished together. The pair also intends to co-parent their children amicably, showing that while the romance may have ended, the bond forged through their extraordinary journey still remains.
