Toxic: Yash reveals why the team chose to postpone release

The road to Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has taken another unexpected turn. The much-hyped pan-India film, headlined by Rocking Star Yash, has once again been delayed, missing its planned June 4 release and triggering disappointment among fans eagerly awaiting the project.
Now, the KGF star has addressed the growing chatter around the postponement, explaining why the makers chose to slow things down even after completing the film.

‘Taking My Time’: Yash Explains the Decision
During a recent interaction with Variety India, Yash spoke candidly about the pressure that comes with audience expectations and why he believes the delay is necessary for the film’s long-term success. Earlier this year, the actor had confirmed that the film would not arrive on its scheduled date.
According to him, the focus has now shifted toward securing international distribution deals and partnerships that could help the film expand its global footprint.
Reflecting on the situation, Yash said, “Right now I’ve taken a decision of taking my time and releasing this film. That is really something my fans or people in India will not like. They’ll be upset because culturally you’re used to like once you start shooting the film, there is a timeline in their head. And unfortunately, marketing happens even if you don’t want to. The moment we start shooting, people start writing about it.”
The actor went on to point out the difference between the Indian and Western film business models. He explained that internationally, films are often marketed and sold only after completion because investors and distributors prefer seeing the final product before committing large sums.
“In the West, everything starts when you finish the film. If somebody wants to buy the film or if somebody wants to be part of the film, they want to see the film because huge money is involved. Those are the things which is a challenge, but I think I have faith in my people, so they understand what we are trying to do is something what we all should do,” said Yash.
Tara Sutaria Says the Delay Is Understandable
Actress Tara Sutaria, who is also part of the film, recently shared a similar viewpoint while discussing the postponed release.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, she said, “I am very patient. I don’t look at it as if it doesn’t release right away, what will happen to me? I am thinking about the bigger picture… as an actor you can’t look at the film as yours. It does not belong to you. It is everybody’s that created it.”
Tara added that decisions regarding delays are often driven by larger creative and commercial considerations that actors may not fully oversee.
“I also understand that I am here to do my job as an actor. Beyond that, I may not have the same understanding that the producers or directors do. There are reasons behind the delay, and I genuinely think those reasons are valid. I completely understand the audience’s eagerness to watch the film — trust me, I feel the same way — but I believe the wait will ultimately benefit the film and help it receive the kind of global embrace we are hoping for. It is definitely worth the wait,” she added.
