Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has issued a direct and stern warning to the Odisha Police department, demanding a complete shift in how law enforcement interacts with the general public. Addressing top police officials, including the DGP and Superintendents of Police (SPs), the Chief Minister made it clear that misconduct, harassment, and reactive policing will no longer be tolerated under his government.

“The time for reactive policing is over. Police must take proactive action, and every common citizen walking into a police station must be treated with absolute respect and courtesy,” stated CM Majhi. The Chief Minister emphasized that people visit police stations in deep distress, and it is the absolute duty of the officers to listen to their grievances patiently, without showing any high-handedness.
