BJP National President Nitin Nabin holds key core committee meeting in Bhubaneswar during maiden Odisha visit

BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Monday held  meetings with party leaders and office-bearers during his first visit to Odisha after assuming charge of the party’s top organisational post. He held discussions focusing on strengthening the organisation ahead of upcoming local body elections.

A core committee meeting was held at the BJP state headquarters in Bhubaneswar in the presence of state BJP president Manmohan Samal, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, BJP national vice-president Baijayant Panda, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha BJP in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar, co-in-charge Lata Usendi and other senior party leaders.

The visit is being viewed as significant for the party organisation in Odisha, particularly with Panchayat elections scheduled next year, followed by urban local body elections.

Focus On Organisation Strengthening

Party leaders said the discussions centred around organisational strengthening, review of previous assignments and future responsibilities for party workers and office-bearers.

Nitin Nabin is also scheduled to hold separate discussions with state office-bearers and presidents of various BJP morchas later in the day.

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said the visit of the party’s national president would boost the morale of grassroots workers.

“When the organisation’s chief visits the BJP state headquarters, the confidence of party members working at the grassroots level becomes even stronger. Workers feel encouraged and realise that growth is possible within the party structure,” she said.

Leaders Emphasise Grassroots Outreach

Senior BJP leader Basanta Panda said the party would continue to work towards strengthening its outreach among people across Odisha.

“I started working for the organisation in the 1990s and have continued since then without feeling tired or discouraged. The organisation has always functioned collectively and will continue to do so,” he said.
