Ajay Devgn joins hands with Anubhav Sinha again after 18 years for mega action film

Nearly two decades after parting ways following the failure of Cash, actor Ajay Devgn and filmmaker Anubhav Sinha are finally joining forces again. What once seemed like a closed chapter in Bollywood has now transformed into one of the industry’s most surprising reunions.
The actor-director duo, who last collaborated in 2007, had reportedly not been in contact for years after Cash underperformed at the box office. Over time, the silence around their equation became a talking point among fans.
Now, with the intervention of producer Kumar Mangat, the two have reportedly resolved the distance and are preparing for a brand-new cinematic venture.
A High-Voltage Action Film in the Making
The upcoming project is said to mark Anubhav Sinha’s return to the kind of commercial entertainers he once helmed successfully. According to a Mid-Day report, the film is envisioned on a grand scale, reminiscent of the filmmaker’s earlier action-heavy ventures.
As quoted in reports, “It will be the kind of larger-than-life entertainers that Anubhav used to make before, like ‘Dus’ (2005) or ‘Ra.One’ (2011).”
The filmmaker reportedly narrated one among three scripts to Ajay Devgn during a meeting arranged by Kumar Mangat. The concept immediately clicked with both Ajay and producer Bhushan Kumar, who is expected to back the project.
Interestingly, Ajay is also said to have encouraged Sinha to mount the film on an even bigger scale.
The Rift That Followed Cash
Their previous collaboration, Cash, arrived with significant buzz and a star-studded ensemble featuring Dia Mirza, Shamita Shetty, Esha Deol, Suniel Shetty, Zayed Khan, and Riteish Deshmukh alongside Ajay Devgn.
Despite the impressive cast and stylish heist setup, the film failed to impress audiences commercially. Still, one element from the film managed to survive the disappointment — the chartbuster track Mind-blowing Mahiya, which went on to gain massive popularity.
Interestingly, Anubhav Sinha had earlier clarified that there was never any personal animosity between him and Ajay Devgn. The disagreements, according to the filmmaker, stemmed from issues involving the producers and financiers associated with Cash.
Ajay Devgn Busy With Golmaal 5
While preparations for the new action drama are reportedly underway, Ajay Devgn is currently occupied with the shooting of Golmaal 5 in Mumbai. The latest installment of Rohit Shetty’s comedy-action franchise also stars Akshay Kumar and is expected to hit theatres globally in 2027.
With Ajay Devgn and Anubhav Sinha reuniting after 18 years, the announcement has already sparked curiosity among Bollywood fans eager to see whether the duo can recreate magic on the big screen once again.
