No petrol, diesel, LPG, or urea shortage in Odisha, assures Chief Secretary Anu Garg amid panic

Amid the ongoing global fuel crisis triggered by the Middle East conflict, the Odisha government on Monday clarified that there is no shortage of fuel or essential petroleum products in the state. The assurance followed a crucial review meeting on the fuel supply situation, after which Chief Secretary Anu Garg addressed public concerns regarding the availability of petrol, diesel, LPG, and urea.

Speaking after the meeting, Garg emphasized that “there is no scarcity of petrol, diesel, LPG, or urea in Odisha. Oil companies are closely monitoring the supply chain and ensuring the uninterrupted availability of essential fuel products across the state.”

She urged citizens not to create unnecessary panic or crowd fuel stations, stressing that there is no reason for concern. The Chief Secretary also issued a warning against illegal hoarding, stating that strict action would be taken against anyone found stockpiling petroleum products unlawfully. District Collectors have been directed to take immediate action if any such instances are detected.

Meanwhile, IOCL CGM Kamal Sheel also reassured the public that the fuel situation in Odisha remains normal, noting that regular supply operations are continuing without disruption and that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, and LPG are available.

“As per the position demonstrated by the oil marketing companies, we don’t have any shortage of petrol, diesel, and LPG in Odisha. I urge people not to create unnecessary panic or crowd and hoard. We have asked the oil marketing companies to monitor the situation fully. District Collectors have been directed to take immediate action if any instances of illegal hoarding are detected,” said Chief Secretary Anu Garg.

The government’s clear communication aims to prevent panic buying and maintain a steady supply across the state, ensuring that residents and businesses continue to have uninterrupted access to essential fuel products.
