The sensational Meerut “Blue Drum” murder case had earlier shaken the entire country with its gruesome details and disturbing method of disposing of the victim’s body. Months later, another chilling case—now being dubbed the “Green Drum” murder—has surfaced from Maharashtra, once again horrifying the public and triggering eerie comparisons on social media over the brutal similarities between the two crimes.

Engineer Allegedly Murdered by Married Lover and Her Husband

According to police investigators, 26-year-old engineer Arbaz Maqsood Ali Khan, a resident of Mumbra in Thane district, was allegedly murdered by his married lover Mehjabeen Sheikh with the help of her husband, brother, and another accomplice.

Authorities claim the accused later stuffed his body inside a green drum and dumped it in a secluded drain in Vasai. Police said Arbaz had gone missing on April 3 after leaving home for work in Dadar.

When he failed to return, his family filed a missing person complaint. Investigators reportedly tracked his call records, tower location, and movements through technical surveillance, eventually leading them to the accused.

Extortion Angle Emerges

Investigators suspect the murder may have been linked to financial disputes and an alleged extortion attempt. Reports suggest Mehjabeen had been in a relationship with Arbaz since 2021 and had allegedly received money from him over the years. Police claim tensions escalated after the victim reportedly stopped sending her money regularly.

According to officials, the accused allegedly tied Arbaz’s hands before brutally assaulting him with plastic pipes, leading to his death. His body was then concealed inside the drum in an attempt to destroy evidence and mislead investigators.

Arrests Made, Hunt On for Other Accused

Police have arrested Mehjabeen Sheikh and her brother Tariq Sheikh, while her husband Hassan Sheikh and another accused are reportedly absconding. The investigation is ongoing.
