A youth was allegedly murdered over a previous enmity in Brahmagiri area, after unidentified assailants allegedly slit his throat, officials said on Monday.

The body was recovered from a cashew forest near Narsingha Patna bridge under the jurisdiction of Puri Sadar police station, sparking tension in the locality.

The deceased has been identified as Lipu Jena, a resident of Jagannath Patna village. Police reached the spot following reports from locals and have initiated an investigation into the incident.

According to preliminary reports, Lipu Jena’s body was found lying in the forest near the bridge, with his throat slit, indicating a brutal attack. Locals informed authorities after spotting the body, and police began inquiry proceedings. Further details regarding the sequence of events leading to the murder are yet to be confirmed.
