Bringing pride to her family and district, Naishmita Sahu from Betarsing village under Mohana block in Odisha’s Gajapati district has emerged as the district topper in the +2 Science examination.

Naishmita, a student of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Department Higher Secondary School in Mohana, secured an impressive 560 marks out of 600, achieving 93.03% and earning the top position in the district.

Her achievement becomes even more inspiring considering her humble background. Her father is a vegetable vendor who supports the family by travelling to local markets and selling vegetables.

Despite financial challenges, Naishmita’s dedication and hard work helped her excel academically and bring glory to her block and district. The daughter of a vegetable seller has now become a symbol of determination and success in the Science stream.

Naishmita has set her sights on becoming a doctor in the future and hopes to continue her educational journey with the same determination.

“My family members and others are very happy about my success. Apart from my college hours, I used to study on my own for eight hours every day. My family supported me a lot throughout my journey. My teachers also helped me immensely by providing the required books and guidance. Whenever I studied late at night, my mother would stay awake and wait until I went to sleep. My aim is to become a doctor in the future,” said Naishmita Sahu.

“We are very happy with our daughter’s success. She has made our family proud. She has always been interested in studies, and we have supported her throughout her journey,” said Naishmita Sahu’s mother.

“I worked very hard, selling vegetables to support my daughter’s education. I always had faith in her success and believed in her abilities. She dreams of becoming a doctor, and I pray to God for her bright and successful future,” said Naishmita Sahu’s father.
