Secret camera found in women’s washroom at DRDA office in Jagatsinghpur; probe underway
A serious privacy breach has been reported from the DRDA office in Jagatsinghpur, Odisha after a secret camera was allegedly found inside the women’s washroom, prompting police action and a formal investigation.
The incident came to light on Thursday morning when a staff member from the finance department, identified as Madhusmita Samantray, reportedly noticed the device after it fell down inside the washroom premises. The matter was immediately escalated, leading to the recovery of the equipment.
Following the discovery, an FIR has been registered in connection with the incident. Police have also seized the device and begun a detailed probe into how it was installed inside a restricted area of a government office.
CCTV footage collected for investigation
Investigators have collected CCTV footage from the office premises as part of efforts to trace the movement of individuals and identify possible suspects involved in the act.
Officials said all angles are being examined, including internal involvement and the possibility of premeditated installation of the device inside the washroom.

SDPO assures strict action
Tirtol SDPO said a special team has been formed and the investigation is progressing. He added that the accused will be identified soon based on technical evidence and CCTV analysis.
The incident has triggered widespread concern over privacy and safety standards in public offices, with calls for stricter monitoring in sensitive areas.
