The Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday unearthed massive properties allegedly linked to Bhubaneswar Sabar, Assistant Executive Engineer of R&B Division, Bhawanipatna, during searches conducted in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

According to Vigilance officials, the searches led to the detection of four multi-storeyed buildings, including two under-construction structures, spread across different locations in Kalahandi district.

Among the major assets unearthed was a double-storeyed building measuring around 4,500 square ft at Gosanimunda in Bhawanipatna town. Another two-storeyed house measuring around 2,625 square foot was detected at Kusumkhunti under Koksara block. Vigilance officials also traced two more under-construction double-storeyed buildings at Moter Chhak and Kusumkhunti.

The anti-corruption agency further unearthed a market complex with eight cabins at Moter Chhak in Koksara area. A sprawling farm house spread over nine acres near Kitpadar on the outskirts of Bhawanipatna was also detected during the raids.

In a major finding, Vigilance officials identified 33 plots of land measuring around 39.64 acres in different locations of Bhawanipatna and Koksara. The landed assets include several large patches of land at Dwarsuni, Kitpadar, Talabelagaon and Kutenpadar areas of Kalahandi district. One of the largest parcels detected during the search measured more than 20 acres at Dwarsuni.

Apart from immovable assets, officials also found a Hyundai Creta SUV linked to the engineer and his family members.

Vigilance sources said measurement and valuation of the buildings, farm house, market complex and landed properties are currently being carried out by the Technical Wing. Details of bank deposits, postal savings and investments are also under verification.

The searches at multiple locations linked to the engineer were continuing till the last reports came in.
