OPSC OCS 2024 results out: 78 women shine among 200 candidates; check the toppers

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Tuesday declared the results of the prestigious Odisha Civil Services (OCS)-2024 examination, recommending 200 candidates for appointment to various Group-A and Group-B posts in the state administration.
Out of the total selected candidates, 78 are women.
According to the merit list released by the commission, Bubun Sahu secured the top rank, followed by Sobhana Mohanty in second place and Jitmitra Sahu in third position. Kanak Jain secured the fourth rank, while Sangram Pradhan stood fifth. Aman Goyal, Shantanu Kumar Satpathy, Nitesh Kumar Barik, Sheetal Patra and Itishree Jena secured the sixth to tenth ranks, respectively.

The OCS examination is conducted in three stages: preliminary examination, main written examination and interview. The recruitment notification for OCS-2024 was issued on December 31, 2024, for 200 vacancies, including 65 posts reserved for women candidates.
As many as 85,223 candidates, including 33,630 women, had applied for the examination. Out of them, 35,165 candidates, including 13,985 women, appeared in the preliminary examination held on October 12, 2025.
A total of 2,405 candidates qualified in the preliminary examination. Subsequently, 2,058 candidates appeared in the main written examination conducted between January 31 and February 10, 2026.
Following the mains examination, 385 candidates qualified for document verification and interview, which were conducted at the OPSC office in Cuttack between May 14 and May 20, 2026.
Among the finally recommended candidates, 70 belong to the unreserved category, 35 to SEBC, 45 to Scheduled Castes and 50 to Scheduled Tribes categories. The list also includes four ex-servicemen and three physically challenged candidates.

The commission highlighted that the entire recruitment process, from advertisement to declaration of results, was completed within 17 months, compared to the earlier timeline of 19 to 22 months.
OPSC stated that the faster publication of results would help synchronise the OCS examination calendar with the UPSC Civil Services Examination schedule, reducing scheduling conflicts faced by aspirants preparing for both examinations simultaneously.
