The upcoming film, directed by Geetu Mohandas, has already generated strong buzz among fans waiting for its revised release date after the project’s postponement. Now, Yash’s latest comments have offered a fresh glimpse into the film’s emotional core and layered storytelling approach.

During a recent interaction with Variety, Yash opened up about how working with a woman filmmaker transformed the emotional depth of the project and added a perspective he feels is often missing in mainstream action dramas.

Speaking about Geetu Mohandas’ creative vision, the actor explained that her perspective influenced the film in ways that went beyond conventional action storytelling. According to him, the narrative explores emotions, conflicts and relationships with greater sensitivity and nuance. 

“We see life differently. There is always a different point of view when women look at things. We miss out on a lot of emotions or a lot of things. Maybe what matters to us may not be what they focus on in a situation. So that perspective becomes so refreshing, layered and deep,” said Yash.

The actor suggested that these emotional layers may eventually become one of the defining strengths of the film. Rather than depending solely on high-octane moments or gangster-style spectacle, Toxic is expected to balance intensity with deeply personal human drama.

More Than Just Violence and Power

Unlike formulaic gangster films driven purely by revenge and dominance, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is expected to dive into morally grey worlds filled with wounded personalities, emotional scars and internal conflict. Yash hinted that the film’s storytelling focuses equally on emotional vulnerability and survival instincts.

According to him, Geetu Mohandas reshaped several scenes by adding depth to the emotional interactions between characters. The film’s world may be violent and dangerous, but the narrative reportedly pays close attention to the psychology of the people living inside it.

Women Take Centre Stage in ‘Toxic’

One of the major aspects highlighted by Yash was the portrayal of women in the film. He made it clear that the female characters are not merely supporting figures orbiting around the hero.

“There’s a different set of politics, a different kind of violence involved with every human being,” Yash explained, adding that the film features “really badass women who have taken responsibility for their lives and survive in any situation.” 

The statement has further heightened curiosity around the film’s ensemble cast, which includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth alongside Yash.
