Mobile explodes inside man’s pocket due to extreme heat in Odisha

In an unusual and alarming incident, a young man narrowly escaped a major mishap after a mobile phone reportedly exploded inside his trouser pocket in Padampur town of Odisha’s Bargarh district on Friday.

Preliminary assumptions suggest that the prevailing extreme heatwave conditions in the region may have contributed to the overheating of the device, leading to the explosion. However, the exact cause behind the incident has not yet been officially confirmed and remains under investigation.

The identity of the youth has not yet been disclosed. Meanwhile, the unusual incident has become a topic of widespread discussion in the locality, with residents expressing concern over mobile phone safety, particularly during periods of intense summer heat and rising temperatures.
