In a shocking and tragic incident in Odisha‘s Kendrapara district, a man allegedly beat his mother to death while under the influence of intoxicants on Saturday night. The incident took place at Patuli village under the jurisdiction of Rajkanika police, leaving the local community in deep shock and grief.

The deceased has been identified as Hiramani Sahu, while her son, Bijay Sahu, has been accused of carrying out the brutal attack. According to preliminary reports, Hiramani was asleep at her home when Bijay, allegedly in an intoxicated state, assaulted her with a wooden stick. The attack reportedly caused severe injuries, leading to her death on the spot.

The horrific incident came to light the following morning when villagers discovered the tragedy and immediately informed the Rajkanika police. Officers promptly reached the scene and launched a formal investigation. Bijay Sahu has been detained and is currently being questioned by authorities.
