Mystery deepens as 4 minor girls go missing from shelter home in Odisha’s Balasore

Four minor girls have reportedly gone missing from a child care institution at Remuna in Odisha’s Balasore district, triggering concern among families and local authorities.

The incident has been reported from the Marillac Seva Sadan Balashram located in Remuna, where the four girls have allegedly been missing since Thursday.

According to sources, two of the missing girls belong to Basta area, while one each is from Baliapal and Bhograi blocks of the district.

One of the missing minors from the Chandaneswar outpost area in Bhograi had earlier been rescued by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and later housed at the Marillac Seva Sadan shelter home.

Following the disappearance of the four girls, family members lodged a complaint at Remuna police station seeking immediate action and tracing of the minors.

Police have reportedly begun an investigation into the matter, though details regarding the circumstances surrounding their disappearance are yet to emerge.

No official reaction has been received so far from the shelter home authorities or the Child Welfare Committee regarding the incident.
