Drishyam 3 ending explained: Georgekutty’s sacrifice sets up a bigger Drishyam 4; Meena urges fans not to share spoilers

Just when it seemed Georgekutty had finally outsmarted fate, the past claws its way back into his life. In Drishyam 3, Mohanlal returns as the ever-calculating Georgekutty, a man who once buried a terrible truth to save his family and now finds himself dragged into another dangerous battle.
Years after the events of Drishyam and Drishyam 2, the family appears to have rebuilt their lives. Rani, played by Meena, finally dreams of renovating their home and living peacefully. Their elder daughter Anju has recovered from the trauma that once haunted her, while younger daughter Anu has grown into a bold and outspoken young woman eager to begin a life of her own.
Meanwhile, Georgekutty has transformed into a successful film producer whose latest movie has become a blockbuster hit. Outwardly, he looks like a man who has won against destiny. But internally, the burden of his secrets continues to consume him.
His family still has no idea how far he went to protect them, and he fears they may someday see him not as a protector, but as a criminal. Even as he reassures them that the case is long dead, Georgekutty continues to live with the paranoia that someone, somewhere, will reopen old wounds.
Old Enemies Return With Revenge on Their Minds
His fears prove true. Varun’s grieving parents, Geetha and Prabhakar, are still unable to move on from their son’s death. Geetha believes justice was never served, while Prabhakar becomes obsessed with proving that Georgekutty’s family escaped punishment.
Adding fuel to the fire is suspended cop Sahadevan, now broken, bitter and consumed by revenge after the humiliation he faced in the earlier films. Together with Geetha’s associate Bastian, the trio begins plotting a fresh attack on Georgekutty and his family. But Georgekutty remains several steps ahead.
Georgekutty’s Most Extreme Move Yet
The biggest twist in Drishyam 3 arrives when Prabhakar devises a sinister plan to trap Anju in a crime she never committed. While Georgekutty is distracted with fresh legal complications tied to Varun’s case, a larger conspiracy unfolds in the background.
Once Georgekutty uncovers the truth, he responds in the only way he knows — by manipulating the situation before anyone else can. In a shocking turn, he tampers with an already staged crime scene and even injures his own daughter so she appears to be the victim rather than the accused.
For perhaps the first time in the franchise, Georgekutty looks exhausted by the endless cycle of lies, cover-ups and strategic games. Though he possesses evidence that could destroy Prabhakar, he chooses a different path. He agrees to surrender himself for Varun’s death — but only on the condition that his family is never touched again.
It becomes Georgekutty’s ultimate sacrifice: a father willing to lose his freedom if it guarantees safety for the people he loves.
Does Drishyam 3 Set Up Another Sequel?
The film closes on an intentionally unresolved note, strongly hinting that the story is far from over. After Georgekutty’s arrest, Prabhakar asks Geetha whether she finally feels satisfied. But her response reveals otherwise — she still wants Anju to suffer for Varun’s death.
That final moment makes it clear the conflict has not truly ended. While there is no official title reveal teasing another installment, the ending unmistakably leaves the door open for Drishyam 4. Georgekutty may have surrendered, but the war surrounding his family is clearly unfinished.
Earlier, Mohanlal himself hinted that Drishyam 4 and even Drishyam 5 could happen in the future, making the cliffhanger feel even more deliberate.
Meena Requests Fans Not to Reveal Spoilers
As discussions around the film exploded online, Meena appealed to audiences not to spoil key moments from the thriller. She wrote, “Dear movie lovers and fans. A humble request to everyone – please avoid posting spoilers from #Drishyam3. Even a small hint can spoil the entire experience. Let everyone watch it with the same excitement. Some experiences are best enjoyed first-hand in theatres.”
Earlier in the day, the actress had joined Mohanlal and the rest of the cast to watch the film with fans in theatres.
