Utkal Divas was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Abu Dhabi, bringing together members of the Odia community residing in the United Arab Emirates. 

The event was organised by the Odia Community under the leadership of its president, Sougata Nayak.

The celebration witnessed the participation of more than 600 Non-Resident Odias, making it one of the prominent cultural gatherings of the Odia diaspora in the region. The programme highlighted Odisha’s rich cultural heritage through traditional cuisine, music and performances by renowned artistes from the state.

Dignitaries Attend Celebration

India’s Ambassador Deepak Mittal attended the event as the chief guest. Cuttack Barabati MLA Sofia Firdous joined the celebration as the special guest.

Both dignitaries interacted with members of the Odia community and appreciated the efforts made to preserve and promote Odia culture and traditions outside India.

Odisha’s Culture Showcased in Abu Dhabi

The event featured traditional Odia food and performances by distinguished artists from Odisha, offering attendees a cultural experience reminiscent of celebrations back home.

Members of the Odia diaspora enthusiastically took part in the programme, reflecting the strong emotional and cultural connection they continue to share with their home state despite living abroad.

The grand celebration of Utkal Divas in Abu Dhabi also served as a platform for strengthening bonds within the Odia community while promoting Odisha’s cultural identity on an international stage.
