Monsoon advances over Arabian Sea and BoB; weather patterns to change soon in Odisha!

The southwest monsoon is steadily advancing across India, bringing relief to several regions after the intense summer heat. According to the latest updates from the India Meteorological Department, the monsoon winds have further progressed into parts of the southwestern and southeastern Arabian Sea.
Experts report that the monsoon is also making inroads into the south-western, south-eastern, and east-central Bay of Bengal. The advancing winds are expected to influence rainfall patterns in coastal and inland regions of Odisha, West Bengal, and other eastern states.
The movement of these winds is a key indicator of the onset of pre-monsoon showers and increasing cloud cover over affected areas.
Andaman Sea and Further Developments
The monsoon has also strengthened over most parts of the Andaman Sea, signaling the gradual buildup of weather systems that could bring rains to the southeastern and eastern parts of India.
Earlier, it was mentioned that a low-pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal towards the end of this month raising the possibility of intensified thunderstorm activity across Odisha, predicted the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the MeT office, a cyclonic circulation remains active over Odisha and its adjoining regions. Under its influence, conditions are becoming favourable for the formation of a low-pressure area over the east-central Bay of Bengal around May 28 and 29.
Authorities are closely monitoring the progress, as this advancement could affect agricultural activities, water levels, and day-to-day weather conditions.
Farmers and residents are advised to stay updated with official forecasts to prepare for the coming monsoon rains.
The steady movement of the southwest monsoon marks an important phase in India’s seasonal climate cycle, offering hope for much-needed rainfall after the sweltering summer.
