CBSE partners with public sector banks to strengthen payment gateway system

In an effort to address technical and payment-related challenges faced by students during the post-result and re-evaluation process, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to revamp its payment gateway infrastructure. The move comes after discussions between the Union Education Ministry and the Union Finance Ministry to ensure smoother digital transactions for students across the country.
As part of the initiative, four major Public Sector Banks – State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, and Indian Bank – will provide support to CBSE in upgrading its payment systems. The collaboration aims to implement robust payment protocols, minimize glitches, and facilitate automatic refunds for any excess payments made by students.
The overhaul will also focus on integrating the payment gateway seamlessly with CBSE’s post-examination services portal, enhancing efficiency and reliability. Officials stated that the coordinated effort with the Ministry of Finance and the participating banks is expected to significantly improve the stability of the payment system, ensuring a smooth experience for students availing re-evaluation and related services.
