In a bid to improve railway connectivity and manage the growing passenger rush during the summer season, the East Coast Railway has introduced a special train service between Gomti Nagar Railway Station in Lucknow and Khurda Road Junction Railway Station. 

The temporary service is expected to provide significant relief to passengers travelling between Uttar Pradesh and Odisha.

Special Train To Run For Limited Period

According to railway officials, Train No. 05064 will operate from Gomti Nagar to Khurda Road from May 28 to June 18. In the reverse direction, Train No. 05063 will run from Khurda Road to Gomti Nagar between May 30 and June 20. 

The special train has been introduced mainly to reduce overcrowding on regular trains operating on this busy corridor during the peak travel season.

Route Covers Multiple States

The train will pass through several important railway stations across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha, improving inter-state connectivity. Major stoppages along the route include Gorakhpur Junction Railway Station, Mau Junction Railway Station, Varanasi Junction Railway Station, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction Railway Station, Gaya Junction Railway Station, Koderma Railway Station, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Gomoh Junction Railway Station, Adra Junction Railway Station, Kharagpur Junction Railway Station, Balasore Railway Station, Bhadrak Railway Station and Bhubaneswar Railway Station before reaching Khurda Road.

Big Relief for Passengers

Railway officials said the new service will help ease waiting lists and provide passengers with a more comfortable travel experience. 

The direct train connectivity will especially benefit long-distance travellers, migrant workers, students and families travelling between the two states. Passengers will also be able to avoid multiple train changes, making the journey smoother and more convenient.
