Bhubaneswar set to host 10-day mango fair with 14 varieties from across Odisha

Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) is set to organise a 10-day mango fair in Bhubaneswar from May 30 to June 9, bringing a wide range of mango varieties directly from farmers and Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) to consumers.

According to a report by The Times of India, the fair will be held at four locations across the city — Saheed Nagar, Ekamra Park, Gopabandhu Nagar and Pokhariput.

Popular mango varieties including Amrapalli, Mallika, Dasheri and Langra, along with several indigenous varieties from Odisha, will be available during the fair. Visitors will also get to enjoy mango-based products such as juice, shakes and ice cream this year.

ORMAS CEO (Marketing) Satya Sundar Sibaram Paital said Farmer Producer Companies and women self-help groups are actively participating in the event with an aim to strengthen market linkage for farmers and promote Odisha’s mango diversity.

Around 20 stalls showcasing nearly 14 mango varieties from 11 districts of Odisha will be set up during the fair.

Officials said fresh mangoes will be supplied directly by farmers to the stalls every day to maintain quality and ensure better returns for growers through direct sales without middlemen.
