After days of scorching heat and unbearable humidity, people across Odisha finally breathed a sigh of relief as Kalbaisakhi showers lashed the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Wednesday evening.

From the capital city Bhubaneswar to the industrial hub of Rourkela, heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds brought down temperatures significantly, providing much-needed comfort to residents struggling with oppressive weather conditions.

The sudden change in weather was most visible in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, where dark clouds rapidly covered the sky during the evening hours. Within minutes, strong winds and intense rainfall swept across several parts of the twin cities, briefly affecting normal movement and traffic in many areas.

Heavy Rain And Thunderstorm Sweep Twin Cities

According to reports, several localities in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack witnessed heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Gusty winds disrupted traffic movement at some places, while many commuters rushed to safer locations as the weather turned stormy within a short span of time.

The impact of Kalbaisakhi was not restricted to the twin cities alone. Rourkela and nearby regions also experienced strong winds and rainfall, bringing welcome relief from the harsh summer conditions prevailing over the past few days.
