Ranveer Singh faces FWICE ‘Non-Cooperation’ directive over Don 3 feud with Farhan Akhtar! Dhurandhar star chooses ‘grace over noise’

A fresh controversy has erupted around Ranveer Singh after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reportedly called for a non-cooperation directive against the actor over the ongoing Don 3 dispute. The issue, linked to filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment, has now snowballed into one of Bollywood’s biggest industry flashpoints.

On Monday, FWICE appealed to members of the film fraternity to avoid collaborating with Ranveer, claiming the actor failed to appropriately address concerns raised over his abrupt exit from Don 3. Soon after the workers’ body made its stand public, the actor finally responded through an official statement.

Ranveer Singh Responds With Silence, Respect And Restraint

Breaking weeks of silence, Ranveer’s spokesperson issued a carefully worded response defending the actor’s decision to stay away from public mudslinging.

“Ranveer Singh holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and for everyone associated with the Don franchise. Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect. While several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, Ranveer has never considered it necessary to respond publicly or contribute to conjecture. His focus remains firmly on his work and the commitments ahead. He continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for all those involved and sincerely wishes the franchise continued success. Choosing restraint and grace in moments like these has always been a conscious decision on his part, and he will continue to maintain the same stance.” (sic)

The statement arrives at a time when speculation around the actor’s fallout with the Don 3 team has intensified across the industry.

FWICE Issues Non-Cooperation Directive Against Actor

FWICE stated that multiple notices had allegedly been sent to Ranveer before the federation arrived at its decision. According to the body, the actor responded by saying the matter was not suited to be discussed on that platform since it involved contractual disagreements.

In its official communication, FWICE said, “Considering the conduct displayed towards the Federation and the stakeholders associated with the project, the office bearers of FWICE have resolved to issue a Non-Cooperation Directive (NCD) against Mr. Ranveer Singh.”

The federation further urged producers and industry associations to collectively discourage what it termed “unprofessional practices” in the entertainment business.

How The Don 3 Controversy Escalated

The Don franchise has remained one of Bollywood’s most followed action series ever since Shah Rukh Khan led Don in 2006 and Don 2 in 2011. In 2023, fans were surprised when Ranveer Singh was announced as the new face of Don 3, replacing Shah Rukh. However, by late 2025, reports began surfacing that the actor had abruptly exited the film after the success of Dhurandhar with director Aditya Dhar.

Industry chatter soon hinted at tensions between Ranveer, Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani. Rumours later suggested that Hrithik Roshan could step into the franchise, though those reports were eventually dismissed.

Farhan reportedly approached the Producers Guild of India regarding the dispute. The Guild is believed to have encouraged both parties to settle the matter amicably instead of escalating it legally.

The matter eventually reached FWICE earlier this year, leading to the latest action against the Dhurandhar star.
