Humidity coupled with extreme heat makes life unbearable in Subarnapur as temp touches 45°C in Western Odisha

People are reeling under intense heat and unbearable humidity as Subarnapur district in Odisha has virtually turned into a blazing furnace.
Over the past few days, temperatures have been rising steadily, making the weather increasingly harsh and uncomfortable. The situation has become so severe that stepping outdoors after 8 AM has become extremely difficult for residents due to the scorching sun and oppressive conditions.
The prolonged heatwave has also triggered an acute water crisis in several villages, leaving people struggling to meet their daily needs. Residents in many areas are facing severe hardship due to water scarcity.
Meanwhile, those forced to step out for work under the relentless sun are finding it difficult to continue their daily activities. Many are seen stopping along roadsides, desperately seeking shade to escape the intense heat and get temporary relief from the blazing weather.

“The scorching heat is unbearable. I was forced to step out amid the heatwave as I had to collect some goods from the bus. Even though I was wearing a helmet, I felt a burning sensation on my head. I have never experienced such extreme heatwave conditions in my life,” said a passerby.
“We are not even able to walk due to the intense heatwave. I have never witnessed such extreme weather conditions in my life,” said another passerby.
