Diesel crosses Rs 100 in Bhubaneswar as fuel prices surge again

Diesel prices in Bhubaneswar crossed the Rs 100 mark following the latest fuel price hike on Monday. Diesel is now being sold at Rs 100.81 per litre, while petrol prices have climbed to Rs 109.16 per litre. The revision comes after an increase of Rs 2.71 per litre for diesel and Rs 2.61 per litre for petrol.
This marks the fourth fuel price hike in the last 10 days. Previously, petrol in Bhubaneswar was priced at Rs 106.33 per litre and diesel at Rs 97.92 per litre. Speed petrol has also seen a sharp rise, currently costing Rs 118.27 per litre in the city.
Bhubaneswar Among Cities Hit by Fresh Hike
The latest increase has impacted fuel prices across several major cities in India. In Delhi, petrol is now sold at Rs 102.12 per litre and diesel at Rs 95.20 per litre. In Kolkata, petrol stands at Rs 113.51 and diesel at Rs 99.82 per litre.
In Mumbai, petrol has risen to Rs 111.21 per litre and diesel to Rs 97.83 per litre, while Chennai sees petrol at Rss 107.77 and diesel at Rs 99.55 per litre.
Concerns Rise Amid Continuous Price Hikes
Experts attribute the continuous rise in fuel prices to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The repeated increases within a short span have heightened public concern, as rising transportation costs contribute to the overall cost of living.
