A dramatic wildlife video showing a group of Mongoose launching a coordinated attack on a Python has gone viral on social media. The intense clip captures the moment a python appears to seize one mongoose before the rest of the group rushes in to rescue their companion.

Within seconds, more than 10 mongooses surround the snake, biting and pulling at different parts of its body in an attempt to force it to release the trapped animal. The chaotic scene highlights the strong group-defense behaviour often seen among social mongoose species.

Predator becomes Prey

In the viral footage posted in instagram, some mongooses are seen tugging at the python’s tail, while others attack along its body as the snake struggles to escape the swarm. The coordinated assault appears aimed at distracting and weakening the predator.

Unlike venomous snakes, pythons kill prey through constriction. After gripping an animal with their teeth, they wrap their muscular bodies around it and squeeze tightly.

Although mongooses are not a common target, pythons may attack smaller individuals if given the opportunity. The viral encounter has fascinated viewers for showcasing nature’s raw survival instincts and remarkable animal teamwork.
