A trailer driver died in a road accident on the Jhumpura bypass along National Highway 20 in Odisha’s Keonjhar district early on Friday morning.

According to preliminary information, the accident occurred when a trailer travelling towards Rimuli rammed into the rear of a truck. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the death of the trailer driver on the spot.

Driver Trapped Inside Vehicle

Officials said the collision was so intense that the driver got trapped inside the damaged trailer cabin after the crash. Locals immediately informed emergency services following the accident.

Upon receiving information, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation to recover the trapped driver from inside the vehicle.

Fire Services Conduct Rescue Operation

Rescue teams used a glass cutter to cut through the shattered glass and damaged body of the trailer during the operation. The rescue work continued for some time due to the extent of damage caused by the collision.

After being recovered from the vehicle, the deceased driver was later taken to a nearby hospital by rescue personnel.
