Odisha CHSE Plus 2 Board Results 2026: Taxi driver’s son scores 595, makes family and state proud

In a heartwarming tale of perseverance and determination, Anshuman Sarangi, son of a taxi driver, achieved an astounding 99.17% in the CHSE Plus II examinations this year. Scoring 595 out of 600 marks, Anshuman’s exemplary discipline and focus have turned his parents’ dreams into reality. 

Overwhelmed with joy, his mother expressed her happiness in tears, saying, “It’s a tear of happiness, I am very happy. He scored good marks in 10th and has done exceptionally well in Plus II too.”

Anshuman’s father, Akhila Kumar Sarangi, who drives a taxi for a living, admitted he had hoped for around 570 marks but was ecstatic with his son’s outstanding performance. The young scholar’s achievement stands as a testament to what hard work, resilience, and self-belief can accomplish, inspiring countless students across the state.

Odisha Records Improvement in Overall Pass Percentage

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, announced the results of the annual Plus Two examinations for all streams on Wednesday. This year, the overall pass percentage rose to 85.85%, marking an improvement of 2.4 percentage points from last year’s 83.45%. A total of 3,41,781 students cleared the Science, Arts, Commerce, and Vocational streams.

Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond officially declared the results, highlighting the consistent trend of girls outperforming boys across all streams. While the state celebrated this collective academic success, individual stories like Anshuman Sarangi’s added a personal, inspiring touch, reflecting the power of determination and family support in achieving excellence.
