A shocking incident has come to light from Jajpur district, Odisha, after the body of a newlywed woman was exhumed amid allegations of murder and an attempt to secretly dispose of her remains.

The deceased has been identified as Pramila Das, a resident of Dandasana village under Jenapur police limits. According to reports, Pramila passed away a few days ago, allegedly following prolonged domestic disputes within her marital family.

Family members have raised serious suspicions against her in-laws, accusing them of burying her body without informing relatives or following legal procedures. Believing that Pramila may have been murdered, they filed a formal complaint at the local police station, demanding a thorough investigation.

Following the complaint, officials, including the Jajpur SDPO and an Executive Magistrate, rushed to the village to supervise the exhumation. The body was recovered from the burial site and sent for post-mortem examination, which is expected to help determine the exact cause of death and uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
