British Couple Shares Viral Experience Of Travelling Across India
Hazel Lindsey and Martin Bailey, a British couple exploring India with their two-month-old baby Alexander, recently went viral after praising Indian Railways and the country’s warm hospitality towards children.
In an Instagram video titled, ‘Sharing thoughts about travelling in India with a 2-month-old baby’, the couple opened up about their journey across the country and described their train travel experience as smooth, memorable and surprisingly convenient. For the couple, travelling through India by train turned out to be one of the most special parts of their trip.
‘Indian Railways Remains An Excellent Way To Travel’
Recalling their love for train journeys in India, the couple revealed that introducing baby Alexander to Indian Railways had always been part of their plan. “We’ve always adored travelling by Indian railways, so when baby Alexander came along, we knew we wanted him to experience it too,” the couple stated.
The duo further appreciated the railway network for making intercity travel comfortable and accessible.
“Indian Railways remains an excellent way to travel between cities. Trains are mostly on time and easy to book using an app. Some stations can be fairly busy, but elevators (and porters) can make life much easier, especially as we had mountains of luggage.”

Lindsey also shared how their infant son appeared completely comfortable amid India’s fast-paced atmosphere. According to her, the constant movement and sounds unexpectedly helped the baby sleep peacefully during the journey.
“He napped on the go in his carrier, whether in a tuk-tuk or whilst we were eating mutton biryani for dinner,” said Lindsey, adding: “Everyone wants to say hello. You’ve got to be fine with complete strangers coming up to you and wanting a cuddle with the baby. We were fine with this, but it’s something you should consider if you plan a visit to India with a baby.”
The couple further described India as extremely welcoming for infants, recalling how restaurants would often arrange adorable cribs for baby Alexander during dinner outings.
