Fire destroys tyre workshop in Bhubaneswar, assets worth lakhs reduced to ashes

A major fire broke out at a tyre resoling workshop in Bhubaneswar’s Mancheswar area late on Saturday night, reducing two shops to ashes and destroying tyres worth several lakhs of rupees.

The blaze reportedly erupted between 2:45 am and 3 am. The exact cause of the fire was not ascertained at the time of reporting.

Firefighting Operation Intensified

After receiving information about the incident, personnel from the Mancheswar fire brigade rushed to the spot and launched firefighting operations.

As the intensity of the blaze increased, seven fire tenders from Kalpana, Bhubaneswar, Pahala and Chandrasekharpur fire stations were deployed to control the fire.

A striking fire force unit and robotic monitors were also pressed into service during the operation.

Two Shops Reduced To Ashes

According to preliminary information, two shops were completely gutted in the incident.

Large quantities of tyres stored at the workshop were reportedly destroyed in the fire, causing losses worth several lakhs of rupees.

Firefighters continued efforts to completely douse the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby areas. Authorities are yet to determine the exact reason behind the fire.
