Tragic road accident in Sambalpur: 3 killed after SUV hits bike near Kuchinda forest park

In a heartbreaking road accident, three people lost their lives after a Scorpio SUV collided with a motorcycle near the Kuchinda Forest Park in Sambalpur district.

The accident took place in front of the forest park under Kuchinda area, when a speeding Scorpio rammed into a motorcycle carrying three passengers. The impact of the collision was so severe that two people died on the spot, officials said on Saturday.

A six-year-old child, who was critically injured in the accident, was rushed to Burla Medical College and Hospital. However, the child succumbed to injuries during treatment on the way.

According to reports, the victims—two adults and a child—were returning from a relative’s house in the Mahulpali police station area when the accident occurred. The SUV reportedly hit the bike head-on, leading to the fatal crash.

Local police reached the spot soon after the incident and initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the accident. The vehicle involved has been seized, and efforts are underway to determine the cause of the collision and whether overspeeding or negligence was involved.
